Harrowed Deep is a 3d side-scrolling action platformer being developed by Croc Pot Games LLC. The story follows Finley as a Harrower of the Deep, he must use his newly acquired powers to venture into The Deep to find and save his kidnapped daughter Anna. As he descends he will encounter new enemies and bosses to acquire new abilities and enable him to seek what awaits at the bottom.
During Finley’s descent, he will come across major bosses known as Harbingers who will free the souls they have captured once they are defeated. Those souls then return to the city, Murkwell, where they can help the player on their journey and help rebuild the town.

My role on this project has primarily been a systems and tech programmer, with my main additions being a fast travel menu, player HUD, and a save/load system among other things. I experimented with my own custom debug menu and also created some of the level hazards.
This debug menu was created to try and help me and the other developers test the game easier by having an editor window up showing the developer cheat codes we made for testing purposes. It is in a basic prototype stage right now but I went out of my way to create it as a proof of concept.
This fast travel menu is designed with the save/load system to retroactively update based on the amount of checkpoints discovered and will allow the player to teleport between them and the player hub.
As of October 2025 this project is on a temporary hiatus, but I am very proud of the progress we have made on the project in the approximately 8 months spent on the project so far. I have continued to learn more about UI practices like integrating sprites into text boxes as well as better code organization.
